What is alloy wheel refurbishment?

Alloy wheel refurbishment restores kerbed, scuffed or corroded wheels to like-new. We strip the old finish, repair the damage, then re-prime, re-colour and lacquer for a durable, factory-quality result — in the original colour or a custom finish — with your tyre kept and refitted afterwards.

Kerbing, corrosion and peeling lacquer don’t just look tired — they let water under the finish and spread. Refurbishing seals and protects the wheel as well as transforming how it looks.

We handle the whole job including removing and refitting your tyres, balancing and setting pressures — with 0% Pay Monthly available.

What we fix

Problems we put right

If your wheels have any of these, refurbishment brings them back.

Kerb damage

Scraped, gouged rims from kerbs and potholes rebuilt and refinished.

Corrosion & pitting

White-worm corrosion and pitting removed before it spreads under the lacquer.

Scuffs & scratches

Face and spoke scuffs smoothed out for an even, showroom finish.

Colour change

Refresh the original colour or go custom — gloss, satin or diamond-cut.

The process

How we refurbish your alloys

Factory-quality finish, done properly.

1

Strip & inspect

We remove the old finish and assess every wheel for cracks, buckles and corrosion.

2

Repair & fill

Kerb damage and pitting are repaired and rebuilt back to a smooth, true profile.

3

Prime & colour

A key primer then your colour — original spec, a custom shade or diamond-cut.

4

Lacquer & cure

A durable lacquer is applied and oven-cured for a hard, weatherproof finish.

5

Balance & refit

Tyres refitted, balanced and pressures set — ready to drive.

Finishes

Finishes & colours

Whatever look you’re after — standard or bespoke.

Colour-match

Matched to your car’s original factory wheel colour.

Powder-coat

Tough, even, weatherproof finish in gloss or satin.

Diamond-cut

Machined bright-metal face with a lacquered finish for that OEM look.

Custom colours

Anthracite, gloss black, bronze — make them yours.

Before & after

From kerbed to like-new

Send a photo on WhatsApp and we’ll show you exactly what we can do with your wheels.

Before

Kerbed rims, scuffed faces, lacquer peel, white-worm corrosion behind the spokes and faded or wrong-colour paint.

After

Straight, smooth rims, an even factory-quality colour, fresh cured lacquer and wheels balanced and refitted — protected against the next kerb.

FAQs

Alloy Wheel Refurbishment FAQs

How much does alloy wheel refurbishment cost?
It depends on the wheel size, finish and the amount of damage — a light scuff is very different to a cracked or badly corroded rim. WhatsApp a photo of your wheels and your car to 0300 124 6981 and we’ll give you a fixed price, with 0% Pay Monthly available.
How long does it take?
Most standard refurbishments are a short turnaround — often next-day — depending on the finish and how many wheels. Diamond-cut and custom colours can take a little longer. We’ll confirm a lead time when you send your details.
Do you have to remove the tyres?
Yes — for a proper, lasting finish the tyre is removed so we can refinish the whole rim, then it’s refitted, balanced and your pressures are set. It’s all included.
Can you repair a kerbed diamond-cut wheel?
In most cases yes — diamond-cut wheels can be re-machined and re-lacquered. There’s a limit to how many times a wheel can be diamond-cut, so we’ll advise honestly; if it’s reached its limit we can powder-coat it in a matching colour instead.
Can you refurbish just one wheel?
Yes — we can do a single kerbed wheel or a full set. For a colour change we’d normally do all four so they match perfectly.
Can you fix corrosion behind the spokes?
Yes — corrosion (“white worm”) is stripped back and treated before we re-prime and re-colour, which stops it lifting the lacquer again.
Can I pay monthly for alloy refurbishment?
Yes — spread the cost over easy monthly payments at 0% interest with no credit check. Just ask when you book.
Where do you refurbish alloys?
At our tyre centre at 234 Boundary Road, St Helens, WA10 2PZ (Mon–Fri 8:00–5:30, Sat 8:00–1:00). WhatsApp your reg and a photo to get started.
