info@yournewtyres.co.ukKeep the car you trust on the road. We bring new 205/60 R15 tyres to your home, your work or the roadside across the North West and North Wales, 24 hours a day, and we tell you the real lead time from the start.
Tell us your name and tyre size — we will reply on WhatsApp with a price and an ETA.
Yes, we fit 205/60 R15 tyres at home, at work or at the roadside across the North West and North Wales, 24 hours a day. We order this size in for you, and it is usually next day. Send the size or your reg on WhatsApp. You get a fitted price and a time back, with no call out charge.
You have kept the car going for years. It starts every morning and the MOT keeps passing. Then a tyre goes, and the local garage shrugs at the size. It is not a size you see on new cars in the showroom. It is still made, and we still fit it.
This was a common size on mid size saloons and estates through the 1990s and 2000s. We order it for you and bring it out, usually the next day. The fitter swaps it on your drive, balances the wheel, fits a new valve and takes the old one away. Allow about 20 to 40 minutes a tyre. See how mobile tyre fitting works.
Budget, mid range and premium are all still made in 205/60 R15. The range in each tier is thinner than for newer sizes, so send the reg early and we lock in the best of what is available. Two or more can go on pay monthly at 0%, subject to status. Or call 0300 124 6981.
The size is on the sidewall of the tyre, or send us a photo of it. It lands with the fitter on shift. No call-out charge, and the fitting is already in the price.
You are through to YourNewTyres. What size are the tyres?
The size is printed on the sidewall, like 205/55 R16. Send that and where you are, and I will come back with a fitted price and the next slot.
A photo of the sidewall does the job if you would rather not type it out.

Older cars, still earning their keep. Here is how we get the call.
The tester flagged the fronts last year. This year it is a fail sheet, and the retest is booked. Send us a photo of the sheet and we get the tyres ordered today.
You rang round and nobody had the size in. We order it and bring it to the car, usually the next day. No calling round, no dead ends.
An older estate towing on a Friday evening. One tyre gives up in a lay by. Get everyone clear of the road and drop us a pin.
An older size does not mean waiting a week. Most of our 205/60 R15 jobs are ordered one day and fitted the next, on your drive. Tell us about the tyre, send the reg, and we sort the rest. Call 0300 124 6981 or message us.
With the tyre ordered in, a repair can get you going quicker. If the hole is in the central tread and the tyre was not run flat, we repair it to BS AU 159 for £39.95. We check the inside first, with the tyre off the wheel. A split in the wall or a hole at the shoulder means a new tyre. We tell you on the spot.

An older car gets no slack on tyres. The limit is 1.6mm across the middle three quarters of the tread. Below it you risk up to £2,500 and 3 points per tyre. If one front is worn out, order both. Getting the pair in one delivery means one visit, and the car brakes evenly on a wet road.

All three tiers still make this size. The newest premium patterns tend to go to current sizes first, so the top end has fewer names. That is fine. There are good tyres in every tier. We send what is actually available, with the wet grip grade from the EU label, and you choose.

Found on mid size saloons and estates from the 1990s and 2000s. Rare on anything new.
Our checked car data covers current cars. We would rather not name models we cannot stand behind.
Send it and we look up the exact size and ratings for your car, then order the right tyre.
The size is printed on the side of the tyre. A photo of it on WhatsApp is enough.

Brilliant service, same day, quick and easy. Was really rushed for time and they moved things around to ensure they got to me to get it fixed. Would defo recommend
Got us out of an unfortunate place of a Luton van blowout, super quick helpful and fairly priced!
Stranded in a car park with no spare! Called and they came within the hour, changed the tyre and was on my way 20 minutes later. Great service, delighted they made it so easy.
Usually next day, fitted at your door. Tell us the reg and we come back with a fitted price and the day we can fit. Nothing extra for coming out.
Every hour you leave a flat tyre on a car is an hour you cannot use it. The van is on shift now, send the size.
Honest answers for drivers of older cars on this size.
That depends on which tier you choose and how many tyres you need. WhatsApp us the size or your reg. We come back with fitted prices for the budget, mid range and premium tyres we can get this week. Fitting, a new valve, balancing and disposal are all included, and there is no call out charge.
An older size is not usually dearer. The difference is choice and lead time, not a big jump in cost. We do not print prices, because stock and prices move from week to week. The fitted price we send is the price you pay on the day. The tyre prices guide explains what pushes a tyre up or down the scale.
If the car is worth keeping, put good tyres on it. They are the only part touching the road. If the car is on its last year, budget is a sensible call and we will say so. Both fronts going at once? Pay monthly spreads two or more at 0%, subject to status. You still get one fitted price, just split into smaller bits.
Usually the next day. We order this size in, then bring it to the car. If the order goes in during the day, most fits happen the following day. We work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, so we can often fit early before work or late in the evening.
Tell us straight if the car is off the road. We will check who has the size nearest to us and give you a real day, not a hopeful one. Sometimes a tyre is closer than we expect and it happens sooner. Sometimes it is a day later. Either way, you know before you plan around it. The how mobile fitting works page runs through the visit.
Flat now and cannot wait? If the hole is in the tread, a repair may get you moving today. If your spare is on the car, check its pressure and keep your speed down until the new tyre arrives. Space saver spares are for short distances only. Read flat tyre and no spare if you only have a kit, or call 0300 124 6981.
Yes. Tyre makers still produce 205/60 R15 in budget, mid range and premium. So many cars on the road still use it that it is worth their while. What you lose is some choice at the top end. New premium patterns usually go to current sizes first, and older sizes get them later or not at all.
That is not a safety problem. A well made mid range tyre in this size will stop and steer your car the way it was designed to. What matters is a decent wet grip grade and the right load and speed rating. All season and winter versions are still made as well. We send both with every price. The mid range tyres guide covers the brands that sit between budget and premium.
The trick is to ask early. Once you know a tyre is getting low, send us the reg. We can check what is around and order the best one for the money before you are stuck. Waiting until the tyre is flat narrows your choice to whatever is closest. The when to replace tyres guide shows the signs to watch for. Early is always easier.
Mostly mid size saloons and estates from the 1990s and 2000s. We do not publish a model list for this size. Our checked fitment data covers current cars, and we will not guess. Send us your reg and we look up the exact size and ratings for your car before we order.
Guessing from a model name is how people end up with the wrong tyre. Cars from that era often came on two or three wheel sizes, depending on the trim and the year. The tyre wall is the most reliable place to look. The sticker inside the driver door or the fuel flap is next. The tyre size explained guide shows how to read the numbers.
Bought the car second hand? Check that the tyres on it now are the size it should wear. Previous owners sometimes change wheels. If the size on the tyre wall does not match the sticker, tell us. We will check which is right for your car before ordering. See tyre sizes for the other sizes we cover, or send a photo of the tyre.
Usually nothing, if you are keeping the same wheels. A 15 inch rim of that width is built for a narrow band of sizes, and 205/60 R15 is the one your car was set up for. Changing the size to get more choice is rarely worth it. We order the right one in.
Some cars of that era were sold on two wheel sizes. If yours has the right wheels already, another size may be listed for it. But a swap means the overall height has to match closely. Otherwise the speedo and the ABS read wrong. We check any alternative against your exact car first. The speed rating and load index guide covers the other numbers that must match.
Putting a different size on just one axle is not a good idea either. The car can feel odd under braking and the MOT tester may flag it. Keep the same size on both sides of an axle, at minimum. Our mixing tyres guide covers what is allowed. The simple answer is to stay with the size on the sticker. It is the safe choice.
Yes. On a car that does low miles, tyres often go from age before they go bald. Rubber hardens over time, whether the car moves or not. A tyre can have plenty of tread and still grip poorly in the wet. Look for the date code on the tyre wall.
The code is four numbers in a small oval on the side of the tyre. The first two are the week, the last two are the year. So 2317 means the 23rd week of 2017. If the tyres are much over ten years old, change them even with tread left. The cracked and perished tyres guide shows what age damage looks like. A quick photo of the code on WhatsApp and we will read it for you.
Also check the spare. On older cars it is often the original, never used, and far older than the tyres on the road. If you ever need it, it has to hold air and grip. Fine cracks across the tread or the wall are the warning sign. We can check it while we are with the car. See how long do tyres last for more.
Often, and it is worth asking before you order a new one. If the hole is in the middle of the tread, and the tyre was not driven far while flat, we repair it to BS AU 159 for £39.95. We take the tyre off the rim and check the inside first.
A hole near the shoulder, a cut in the wall, or damage inside from running flat means the tyre is finished. So does a tyre that is too old to be worth saving. In that case we order a new one and fit it, usually the next day. The can a punctured tyre be repaired guide shows exactly where the repair zone ends.
Spotted a nail but the tyre still holds air? Leave it in. It is plugging the hole for now. Check the pressure each morning, keep your speed down and send us a photo. We can usually tell whether a repair is likely from the picture. Read nail in tyre for what to do meanwhile. Call 0300 124 6981 if it is losing air fast. We would rather fix it than sell you one.
The limit is 1.6mm, across the middle three quarters of the tread and all the way round. It is the same for a car made last year or in 1998. Drop under it and you risk a fine of up to £2,500 and 3 points per tyre, not per car.
There are small bars moulded into the main grooves. When the tread wears down level with them, the tyre is at the limit. Take a look at the inner edge too. Older cars often wear there first if the tracking has drifted. The uneven tyre wear guide shows the common patterns and what each one points to on the car. Worn edges can hide behind a healthy looking centre.
Wet grip drops off well before 1.6mm. Many drivers change at about 3mm for that reason. If the car has an MOT coming, check the tyres a week before, not the night before. That gives us time to order this size in. Our UK tyre law guide covers bulges, cuts and the other things that can fail a tyre at any depth. Book early and there is no rush.
Usually, yes. Both tyres on one axle should match in type and be close on tread. If one front is bald, its partner has covered the same roads and is not far behind. Ordering the pair together means one delivery and one visit, instead of waiting on this size twice.
There is another reason on an older size. The pattern you have now may have gone out of production. Fit a new tyre next to an old one from a different range and the two can grip differently. A matched pair on each axle keeps the car straight under braking. The two tyres or four guide goes into when a pair is needed. We match the pair so both sides feel the same.
If only one tyre is damaged and the other has good tread and the same pattern, one is fine. We will tell you. We look at all four while we are fitting and report back honestly. Some cars also wear the rears unevenly, especially estates that carry weight. Our wheel alignment guide explains how tracking affects tyre wear. A worn bush or a knock on the kerb often shows up first on the tyres.
For a car on its last year or two, doing gentle local miles, a good budget tyre is fair value. If the car does longer runs, carries a family or tows, go mid range or premium. We send every available option with its wet grip grade, so the choice is clear.
The EU label gives each tyre a wet grip grade from A to E. On an older car with older brakes, that grade matters. A stronger grade shortens the distance you need to stop in the rain. When the choice in a size is thinner, the label is the quickest way to compare what is left. See tyre labels explained for the full label.
Plenty of owners keep an older car because it is paid for and reliable. Spending a little more on tyres keeps it that way. A cheap tyre that wears fast can cost more over the years. The budget vs premium tyres guide sets out the trade in plain terms. Bridgestone, Pirelli and Goodyear still sell premium tyres in this size. Tell us how long you plan to keep the car and we will advise. If it is going next year, we will say budget and mean it.
Yes. We cover the whole Wirral, from Birkenhead and Wallasey to West Kirby, Heswall and Bebington. We fit at your home, your work or the roadside. The tyre is ordered in and usually fitted the next day. WhatsApp us the size or your reg for a fitted price and a time.
Moreton, Upton and Hoylake are covered too, along with the rest of the peninsula. Same fitter, same fitted price, same hours as anywhere else on our patch. See mobile tyre fitting in the Wirral for the local detail. Tell us your street and we give you a day and a time. Parked on a narrow terraced street? Tell us, and the fitter plans where to work.
Stuck on the M53 or by the tunnel approach? Get the car as far off the road as you can and stand behind the barrier. Send us your pin, or call 0300 124 6981. If a new tyre needs ordering, we will tell you the time and day it can be fitted. A tread puncture may be repairable on the spot, so send a photo first. Check Birkenhead if you are near the town centre.
Yes, on two or more tyres. It is 0% interest, subject to status. The tyres are ordered, fitted at your door and paid off over the next few months. The fitted price stays the same whether you pay on the day or spread it. There are no fees on top.
You apply when you book. It is quick, and done before we order the tyres. Once approved, we fit as usual. No call out charge applies on any visit, so the price you spread is the price we quoted. A pair on the front is the usual buy on an older car. The pay monthly tyres page explains what you need to apply.
Only one tyre needs doing? Then pay on the day. A single tyre, or a £39.95 puncture repair if the damage is in the right place, might be all it takes. We always look for a safe repair first. If the tyre is past saving, we show you why before we order a new one. Nobody gets sold a tyre they do not need. Call 0300 124 6981 to talk it through.
