Mobile tyre fitting · North West & North Wales · We fit around you
Approved by the AA and RAC. No call-out charge. Around 32 minutes on average, 24 hours a day.
info@yournewtyres.co.ukFlat or bald 205/55 R16? We bring a new one to your car and fit it right there. Your drive, your work or the roadside, anywhere in the North West and North Wales, day or night.
Tell us your name and tyre size — we will reply on WhatsApp with a price and an ETA.
We fit 205/55 R16 tyres at your home, your work or the roadside across the North West and North Wales, 24 hours a day. The size is on the van, so today is normal. WhatsApp us the size or your reg. We reply with a fitted price and a time. There is no call out charge.
You are stood next to a Golf with one corner sat on the tarmac. Or the tester just told you both fronts are bald. Either way, the car is going nowhere. We sort it where it stands, so you do not lose the day.
Most family hatchbacks run on this size, so every van carries it. No ordering in, no second trip. The fitter swaps it on the spot, balances the wheel, fits a fresh valve and takes the old tyre with him. Allow 20 to 40 minutes a tyre. One tip: 205/55 R16 and 205/60 R16 look almost the same, but they are different tyres. Send a photo of the wall and we check. Here is how mobile tyre fitting works.
So many cars use it that you get real choice in every tier. Budget, mid range and premium come priced and fitted, side by side. Need two or more? Spread it at 0% with pay monthly, subject to status. Message the size now or ring 0300 124 6981. We tell you when the van can be there.
The size is on the sidewall of the tyre, or send us a photo of it. It lands with the fitter on shift. No call-out charge, and the fitting is already in the price.
You are through to YourNewTyres. What size are the tyres?
The size is printed on the sidewall, like 205/55 R16. Send that and where you are, and I will come back with a fitted price and the next slot.
A photo of the sidewall does the job if you would rather not type it out.

The Golfs, Focuses and Astras we get called out to every week.
The Focus is down on one corner and you start at seven. Grab a lift or a taxi. The fitter does the tyre on the drive and texts you when it is done.
The Astra pulls to one side and a light comes on. Get off at the next exit, or onto the hard shoulder and behind the barrier. Send a pin. The van comes to you.
The tester says both front tyres are under the limit. You should not drive it home like that. We meet you at the test centre and fit the pair in the car park.
Nearly every message we get is one of two things. A tyre that lost its air. Or tread worn down to the bars. We fix both at the car. Ring 0300 124 6981, or WhatsApp us the size.
Nails and screws in a Golf or Focus tyre usually land in the middle of the tread. That is the good news. The middle can often be repaired. We take the tyre off the rim and look inside it first. If it is safe, we fix it to BS AU 159 for £39.95. A hole in the shoulder or the wall cannot be fixed. Nor can a tyre that was driven on flat. Then a new 205/55 R16 comes off the van and goes straight on.

The law wants 1.6mm of tread across the middle three quarters of the tyre. Below that it is up to £2,500 and 3 points, per tyre. So two bald ones can mean six points. On a front wheel drive hatch the fronts wear first, and they wear together. Change both on that axle and the car stops straight in the rain. We look at the back two as well and give you an honest view.

This size has more choice than almost any other. That means good tyres at every price. Budget suits a car doing short trips, or one you are selling soon. Mid range suits most commuters. Premium earns its keep on big motorway miles and wet winters. Every quote shows the wet grip grade from the EU label. Pick the one that fits your miles.

Got us out of an unfortunate place of a Luton van blowout, super quick helpful and fairly priced!
Stranded in a car park with no spare! Called and they came within the hour, changed the tyre and was on my way 20 minutes later. Great service, delighted they made it so easy.
Brilliant service, same day, quick and easy. Was really rushed for time and they moved things around to ensure they got to me to get it fixed. Would defo recommend
Every van carries this size. WhatsApp the size or your reg and we reply with a fitted price and a time. No call out charge, day or night.
Every hour you leave a flat tyre on a car is an hour you cannot use it. The van is on shift now, send the size.
What 205/55 R16 drivers ask us, answered straight.
Three things set the price: the tier you pick, the brand and how many tyres you need. Send the size or your reg on WhatsApp. We reply with a fitted price for budget, mid range and premium. That one figure covers the tyre, fitting, balancing, a new valve and taking the old one away.
We keep prices off the site on purpose. Tyre prices shift all the time, and last month's figure is no use to you tonight. Here is what stays fixed. There is no call out charge, because fitting is priced into the tyre. The number we send is what you pay, at lunchtime or at two in the morning. What mobile fitting costs breaks it down line by line.
Because 205/55 R16 is so common, the tyre makers fight hard for it. That keeps prices keen in all three tiers. Tell us how many miles you do and we point you at the one that makes sense. Buying two or four at once can sting. Pay monthly splits it at 0% interest, subject to status. The tyres go on today and the cost comes out over a few months.
Right where your car is parked. We come to your drive, your work car park or a safe spot by the road. This size rides on every van, so a same day fit is normal. We work around the clock, every day of the year. In our core area we reach you in about 32 minutes on average.
Send the size with a postcode or a location pin. We answer with a real arrival time, not a guess. If the closest van has just fitted its last 205/55 R16, we say so straight away. Then you get the next slot we know we can keep. Broken down on a busy road? Read emergency tyre fitting first. Your safety comes before the tyre, every single time.
You do not need to be at home while we work. Leave the key with a neighbour or meet us at the car. Most people just carry on with their day. We text you when the job is finished. We cover 2,700+ areas across the North West and North Wales. Street not on the list? Message us anyway. We will tell you straight if we can reach you, and how soon.
Yes, lots of them. With so many hatchbacks on this size, nearly every big maker sells an all season 205/55 R16. It is a good pick if your car sits outside all winter and you hate swapping sets. One tyre does the whole year. We can price it next to a summer tyre for you.
Check the tyre wall for a mountain with a snowflake inside it. That mark means it passed a proper snow test. Without it, all season is just a word on a sticker. A good one stays soft in the cold, so it still grips on frosty mornings. Our best all season tyres guide lists what to look for. We only quote tyres that carry the mark.
Is it worth it for you? If you commute every day, park on the street and live up a hill, probably yes. If the car mostly does short town trips and sleeps in a garage, a summer tyre is fine. Still unsure? Read summer, winter or all season. Or just ask when you message us the size. You will get a plain yes or no from us.
Loads of family hatchbacks. The Volkswagen Golf, Ford Focus, Vauxhall Astra, Audi A3 and BMW 1 Series all run it on some trims. So do the Toyota Corolla, SEAT Leon, Peugeot 308, Mercedes A Class, Kia Ceed, Hyundai i30, Citroen C3, Fiat Tipo and Nissan Leaf.
The same model can leave the factory on different wheels. A basic Golf and a GTI do not share tyres. So never order from the badge alone. Read the numbers off the tyre wall, or look at the sticker in the driver door frame. Easiest of all, send your reg and we look it up for you. Golf driver? Our Volkswagen tyres page has more on your car.
Leaf owners often ask if their car needs a special tyre. It uses this very size. But the battery makes the car heavy, so the load rating has to be right. We match it every time, no shortcuts. A quieter tyre helps too, as there is no engine to cover road noise. EV tyres explained covers the rest. Just tell us the car when you message.
No. They look nearly the same, but a 205/60 R16 is a taller tyre. It throws out your speedo and the systems that help you brake. On some cars it can rub on the arch too. Stick to 205/55 R16 unless your car was built for something else. It is on the van anyway.
Here is what the numbers mean. The 205 is how wide the tyre is. The 55 is how tall the wall is next to that width. R16 means it fits a 16 inch wheel. Change one number and you have a different tyre. Before we fit anything, we check the size against your exact car. If the tyres on it now are the wrong size, we tell you. See tyre size explained for what each number on the wall means. It is a quick, easy read, and it saves a wasted order.
Some cars on this size also came with 195/65 R15 or 225/45 R17 on other trims. Moving between those needs different wheels, not just different tyres. For a flat today, keep it simple. Same size, same load number, same speed letter. Thinking about bigger wheels later on? Look at 225/45 R17 first. The ride gets firmer as the wheel gets bigger, so try before you commit.
Often, if the damage is in the middle of the tread. We take the tyre off the wheel and check it inside and out. If it is safe, we repair it to BS AU 159 for £39.95. If it is not, a new one comes off the van instead. You get a straight answer before any work starts.
A repair is off the table when the hole is near the shoulder or in the sidewall. The same goes for a long cut, or a tyre run flat until the inside is chewed up. A plug pushed in from outside is not a proper fix either. Read can a punctured tyre be repaired for the full rules. It only takes a couple of minutes to read.
Found a screw and the tyre still holds air? Leave it where it is. Pulling it out can let all the air go at once. Drive slowly, and only as far as you must. Take a photo showing where the screw sits and send it with the size. We can often tell you if a repair looks likely. Our slow puncture guide helps if it keeps going down.
When the tread drops below 1.6mm across the middle three quarters of the tyre, all the way round. A cut, a bulge or bare cord makes it illegal at any depth. The fine is up to £2,500 and 3 points for each tyre. The police can stop you for it on any day.
Look in the grooves for small raised blocks. Those are the wear bars. When the tread is level with them, the tyre is done. You can also use a 20p coin. Push it into a groove. If the outer rim of the coin shows, you are close to the limit. See tread wear indicators for pictures of exactly what to look for.
The law is the floor, not the target. Wet grip falls away well before 1.6mm, so lots of drivers change at about 3mm. If the MOT tester gave you an advisory, send us a photo of the sheet. We will price exactly what it lists. Our failed MOT on tyres guide explains what testers look for. Call 0300 124 6981 if you would rather talk it through.
The law does not say so, but it is usually the smart move. Tyres on the same axle should match in size, type and wear. On a front wheel drive hatch the fronts steer and do most of the braking. So they wear down together. If one is bald, its partner is close behind.
A new tyre next to a worn one grips differently. Brake hard on a wet road and the car can tug to one side. A matched pair keeps it straight. That matters most on the day you really need it. Read two tyres or four to see when one on its own is fine. We will tell you which side of that line your car is on.
If the other front still has plenty of tread, we fit just the one. No pressure, no upsell. We check all four tyres while we are there and tell you what can wait. Some drivers swap tyres front to back to even out wear. Is tyre rotation worth it says when that helps. For what the law allows, see mixing tyres.
It depends on your miles. Short hops round town in a car you are selling soon? A good budget tyre does the job. Long motorway runs, wet winters, kids in the back? Mid range or premium is usually money well spent. We price all three so you can compare them in a minute.
The fairest way to compare is the EU label. It grades wet grip from A to E. An A stops shortest on a wet road. We put that letter next to every price we send. So you compare grip against cost, not just brand names you half know. Tyre labels explained covers the noise and fuel grades on the label too.
A cheap tyre that wears out fast is not really cheap. Think cost per mile, not cost on the day. If you keep the car for years, a longer lasting tyre often pays for itself. If the car goes in spring, it will not. Premium means names like Michelin, Continental or Bridgestone. Budget and mid range brands come priced right next to them. Read budget vs premium tyres for the honest trade off. You decide. We fit it.
Yes, all over St Helens. The town centre, Rainhill, Haydock, Billinge and the estates in between. We fit at home, at work or at the roadside, day and night. This size is on the van, so a same day fit is normal. WhatsApp the size and your postcode for a fitted price.
St Helens sits right in the middle of our patch, between Liverpool, Wigan and Warrington. A flat on the A570 or the East Lancs is a short hop for us. Get the car off the road if you can, and wait behind the barrier. Then send your pin. See mobile tyre fitting in St Helens for the local detail and the streets we cover.
Out near the edge of town? Newton le Willows, Prescot and Burtonwood are covered as well. Same fitters, same prices, same hours as the town centre. Rather talk to a real person? Ring 0300 124 6981 and we will sort a time with you there and then. Our coverage list shows every area we reach. Not sure if you are in it? Just ask us.
Yes. The 91 is the load rating and the V is the speed rating. Your new tyre must match both or beat them. Go lower and the tyre may not be right for your car. You will not see this on the badge, only on the tyre wall and the door sticker. We match it every time.
Many 205/55 R16 tyres carry 91V, but not all of them, because it varies by car. A heavy electric car can need a higher load number. Some tyres also show XL on the wall. That means the tyre is built to carry more weight. The figure on your door sticker is the one that counts. Speed rating and load index explains it in plain words.
You do not need to work any of this out yourself. Send your reg and we read the right ratings for your exact car. Then we only quote tyres that meet them. If the tyres on the car now fall short, we tell you. We also set the pressures to the door sticker before we leave. What tyre pressure should my car be shows where to find it.
About 20 to 40 minutes a tyre, once the van is with your car. A pair is usually done inside an hour and a half. In our core area we reach you in around 32 minutes on average. So a flat at breakfast is often sorted before lunch, and you never leave the house.
Here is what the fitter does in that time. He jacks up the car, takes the wheel off and strips the old tyre. He fits the new one with a fresh valve. He balances the wheel so it runs smooth at speed. Then it goes back on, the nuts get tightened properly and the pressures are set. How mobile fitting works walks you through the visit.
Locking wheel nut and no key? Tell us when you book, as it adds a little time. We can still get it off. Is a TPMS light on after the change? We reset it before we go. Paying for two or more? Pay monthly at 0% is set up when you book, subject to status. Call 0300 124 6981 if you want a hand with any of it.
