The short answer

Where can I get 195/55 R16 tyres fitted at home?

We fit 195/55 R16 tyres at home, at work or at the roadside, across the North West and North Wales, 24 hours a day. This size is on the van, so same day is the norm. WhatsApp the size or your reg. Back comes a fitted price and a time. You pay no call out charge.

It is eight in the morning and the Fiesta has a flat. Or the MINI says low pressure and the light will not clear. Or the tester has written bald on the sheet. The car you need today is stuck, and the garage wants you to bring it in. You cannot.

You do not have to. The van brings 195/55 R16 to you. The fitter swaps it at the car, balances the wheel and takes the old one for recycling. Allow 20 to 40 minutes a tyre. One thing to know: a Corsa Electric needs a higher load rating than a petrol Corsa in this same size. We read your car first, so it gets the right one. See how the visit works.

Choose budget, mid range or premium from three fitted prices. Need two or more? Pay monthly at 0%, subject to status. Send the size on WhatsApp now, or call 0300 124 6981. We come back with a time the van can be with you.

Send the tyre size. We send back a fitted price and a time.

The size is on the sidewall of the tyre, or send us a photo of it. It lands with the fitter on shift. No call-out charge, and the fitting is already in the price.

You are through to YourNewTyres. What size are the tyres?

The size is printed on the sidewall, like 205/55 R16. Send that and where you are, and I will come back with a fitted price and the next slot.

A photo of the sidewall does the job if you would rather not type it out.

The calls we take

Three bad moments on 195/55 R16

The busiest small cars in Britain run this size. Here is how it goes wrong.

01MINI

Run flat, no spare

The MINI says a tyre is low, but it still rolls. A run flat lets you limp a short way, slowly. Do not push your luck. Stop somewhere safe and send us the size.

02WORK

Sat low in the work car park

At lunch you spot the Fiesta sagging on one side. Message us from your desk. The fitter does it in the car park, and it is ready for home time.

03EV

Corsa Electric, wrong tyre

Someone quotes you the petrol Corsa tyre for your Corsa Electric. Same size, lower load rating, wrong tyre. We check your exact car before the van sets off.

The two fixes

195/55 R16 gone flat or bald? One visit sorts it.

A flat might only need a repair. A bald tyre always needs replacing. We tell you which at the car, with no guessing. WhatsApp the size or call 0300 124 6981.

Punctured? Maybe just £39.95

A screw in the middle of the tread is often repairable. We take the tyre off the wheel and inspect the inside, where hidden damage shows up. If it is sound, we repair it to BS AU 159 for £39.95. MINI run flats need more care. If one was driven a long way flat, we replace it. Sidewall holes and edge damage mean a new tyre too, fitted from the van.

A screw in a 195/55 R16 tyre on a small hatchback

Bald? 1.6mm, and the fines are per tyre

Tread must be at least 1.6mm across the middle three quarters, right round the tyre. Each illegal tyre can bring up to £2,500 and 3 points. A Fiesta or Corsa wears its fronts first. Put a matching pair on the front axle so the car brakes evenly. We check the rears too, and only fit what you need.

Budget, mid range or premium in 195/55 R16

This is a busy size, so there is plenty to choose from. Budget is fine for short trips in town. Mid range suits daily commuting. Premium brings the best wet grip. On a Corsa Electric, a quiet, easy rolling tyre can help the range. Each price arrives with the EU wet grip grade beside it.

FAQs

195/55 R16 tyre questions

The questions Fiesta, Corsa and MINI drivers send us.

The price depends on which tier you go for, which brand, and how many tyres. Message the size or your reg and we send fitted prices for budget, mid range and premium. The figure includes fitting, balancing, a new valve and getting rid of the old tyre. There is no call out charge.

Why no prices here? Because they change often, and we would rather send you today's real number than show you an old one. Our price is fitted, so there is nothing else to add when the van arrives. It is the same at 3pm or 3am. See tyre prices in 2026 for what moves the market up and down. Then send your size for an exact figure.

On a Corsa Electric, the right tyre can cost a little more because of the higher load rating. On a MINI, run flats cost more than normal tyres. So tell us the car as well as the size. We will quote the tyre your car actually needs, not the nearest match. Buying two or more? Pay monthly spreads the bill at 0%, subject to status.

Most days, yes. This size is on the van, so we do not need to order it in. We fit around the clock, 365 days a year. In our core area the van reaches you in about 32 minutes on average. Send your postcode or a pin and we give you a real time.

Busy days do happen. If the nearest van has used its last 195/55 R16, we tell you straight and give you the next time we can do. No vague four hour windows. If the car is somewhere unsafe, like a narrow bend, move it only if you can do so safely. Read tyre blowout on the motorway if it went at speed.

You can carry on with your day while we work. Hand over the key, or leave it somewhere safe if you are home. Plenty of customers book the work car park, so the car is ready when they clock off. We are AA approved and RAC approved, so you know who is turning up. We text when it is done. You come back to a car that is ready to go.

Yes. With so many Fiestas, Corsas and MINIs on this size, the big makers all sell all season versions. It is a sensible choice if you drive every day through the winter. You fit one set and leave it on all year. We can quote it beside a normal summer tyre.

A true all season tyre has a mountain and snowflake symbol on its wall. That means it has been tested on snow. Tyres without it may be sold as all weather, but they are really summer tyres. On a small, light car, that extra cold weather grip is easy to feel. Winter tyres covers the full winter option if you live up high.

MINI owners on run flats can get all season run flats too, though the choice is smaller. Tell us if yours are run flats so we quote the right thing. For most drivers who park outside and commute, all season is worth a look. Summer, winter or all season helps you decide. Or just ask us when you message. We will tell you if it is worth it for your miles.

The Ford Fiesta Mk8 and the Vauxhall Corsa E and F lead the list. The MINI Hatch and Clubman use it, and so does the Corsa Electric. You will also find it on the Toyota Yaris, Nissan Micra, Hyundai i20, Audi A1, Citroen C3, Dacia Sandero, Peugeot 208 and MG3.

The same car can come on two or three sizes, depending on trim. A basic Fiesta and a sporty one may differ. So read the numbers on the tyre wall, or the sticker inside the driver door. The simplest way is to send us the reg. We look up the right size before anything is loaded. Ford tyres covers the Fiesta and the rest of the range.

Reading the wall is easy. 195 is the width, 55 is how tall the wall is next to that width, and R16 is the wheel size. Some of these cars also came on 185/65 R15. Both sizes are correct for those cars, on the right wheels. If you have the smaller wheels, see 185/65 R15 instead. Whichever you have, keep it the same on each axle. Mixing sizes side to side is not safe. Send a photo of the tyre wall if you are not sure what is on there now.

Same size, but a higher load rating. The battery makes the Corsa Electric heavier than the petrol Corsa. So its tyres must be built to carry more. A petrol Corsa tyre can fit the wheel and still be wrong for the car. We check the rating for your car before we quote.

The load rating is the number just after the size on the tyre wall. The letter after it is the speed rating. Your new tyre should match or beat both. You will often see XL on tyres for heavier cars, which means extra load. The right figure is on your door sticker. Speed rating and load index explains the code in plain English.

Electric cars also run quietly, so tyre noise stands out more. Many owners pick a tyre with a low noise grade on its EU label. An easy rolling tyre can also add a few miles of range. We can quote both. Vauxhall tyres has more on the Corsa family, petrol and electric. Tell us which one you have when you message. It saves a second trip with the wrong tyre on board.

Yes. We fit run flats at the car, just like normal tyres. Many MINIs on this size have them and no spare wheel. Check the tyre wall for a run flat mark, or send us a photo. We will quote run flats, or talk you through the other options if you want to change.

A run flat lets you keep driving for a short way after a puncture, at low speed. It is meant to get you somewhere safe, not all the way home from a holiday. Once it has been driven flat, it usually needs replacing, not repairing. If you swap to normal tyres, you need a plan for punctures, as there is no spare. Run flat tyres explained covers the trade.

Some owners change to normal tyres for a softer ride and a lower price. That can work, but you would carry a foam kit or a spare instead. Think about how far you drive from home, and at what hours. Spare, run flat or sealant compares the three. Ring 0300 124 6981 if you would like to talk it through before you choose.

Often, if the hole is in the middle of the tread and the tyre was not driven flat. We take it off the wheel and look inside first. A safe repair is done to BS AU 159 for £39.95. Run flats driven flat, sidewall damage or holes near the edge mean a new tyre.

The inside tells the real story. A tyre that ran low for a mile can look fine outside and be torn up inside. That is why we never plug a tyre from the outside with it still on the car. It is quick, but it is not a proper repair. Can a punctured tyre be repaired sets out where the repair zone ends.

Got a nail and the tyre is still up? Do not pull it out. It may be plugging the hole for now. Keep your speed low and your trip short. Send us a photo of where it sits, along with the size. We can often say straight away whether a repair looks likely. Read nail in tyre for what to do in the meantime.

You need at least 1.6mm of tread across the middle three quarters of the tyre, all the way round. Below that, it is up to £2,500 and 3 points per tyre. A bulge, deep cut or visible cord is illegal whatever the tread. The fronts on a Fiesta or Corsa usually wear out first.

Want a quick check? Look for the small ridges set into the grooves. When the tread wears down level with them, the tyre is finished. Or try a 20p coin in the groove. If the outer band is on show, it is time to price new ones. Tread wear indicators shows you where the ridges sit, so you know what you are looking at.

The limit is a legal line, not a safe target. Stopping in the wet gets worse as the tread wears down. That is why many drivers change at about 3mm. Got an MOT advisory? Send a photo of it with your reg and we will price what it lists. UK tyre law has the full rules, including cuts, bulges and mixing tyres.

You do not have to by law, but a matching pair is safer. Tyres on one axle should be the same size and type, and close in tread. On a Fiesta or Corsa the front pair steer and pull the car. They wear at the same rate, so if one is gone, the other is not far behind.

Two different tyres on the front grip the road differently. Under hard braking in the wet, that can make the car pull. A matched pair keeps it tracking straight. That matters on a busy school road at half three. Two tyres or four explains when a single tyre is fine and when it is a false saving.

On a MINI, never mix run flats and normal tyres on the same axle. Keep them the same on each axle, and ideally on all four. We will tell you what is on the car now, and what can safely wait. Mixing tyres explains the law. If one tyre still has loads of tread left, we will say so and fit just the one. You only pay for what the car needs today.

It comes down to how you drive. Short town trips and a car you will sell soon? A good budget tyre is fine. Daily commute, motorway miles, family in the back? Mid range or premium usually pays off. We send all three fitted prices, so you can see the gap for yourself.

Compare on the EU label, not just the brand. It grades wet grip from A to E, and A stops shortest on a wet road. We send that grade next to each price. Premium names in this size include Continental, Michelin and Goodyear. Mid range tyres explains the middle tier, which suits most small car drivers well.

Cheap tyres can wear faster, so the saving can vanish over time. If you keep the car for years, cost per mile matters more than the price today. If the car is going soon, it matters less. Budget tyres shows when budget is the right call. We will give you a straight view, not a sales pitch, and you choose. A Fiesta doing school runs does not need the same tyre as a MINI doing the M62 every day.

Yes, all over Warrington. Great Sankey, Stockton Heath, Penketh, Birchwood and the town centre are all on our patch. We fit at home, at work or at the roadside, any hour. This size is on the van, so today is normal. Send the size and a postcode on WhatsApp.

Warrington sits between the M62, the M6 and the M56, so our vans pass through all day. Stuck near a junction? Get off the carriageway if you can do it safely. Stand well back behind the barrier and send us a pin. In town, a side street or a supermarket car park is fine. Tell us which one and where the car is. See mobile tyre fitting in Warrington for more about the local service.

Plenty of people in Warrington book a fit at their work car park, so the car is ready at the end of the day. Grappenhall, Lymm, Culcheth and Burtonwood are covered too. Same prices and hours as the town centre. Prefer a chat? Call 0300 124 6981. Our coverage page lists all 2,700+ areas we reach. If you are just over the line, ask anyway.

Around 20 to 40 minutes for each tyre, once the van reaches you. In our core area, the van gets to you in around 32 minutes on average. So from your first message to driving away is often not much over an hour. We work any hour, so a late night flat is no problem.

In that time the fitter lifts the car, takes off the wheel and removes the old tyre. The new tyre goes on with a new valve. Then the wheel is balanced so it does not shake at speed. It goes back on, the nuts are done up properly and the pressures are set. Wheel balancing explains why that step is never skipped.

If your car watches tyre pressure and the light comes on, we reset it before leaving. On a MINI this is often part of the job. Lost your locking wheel nut key? Tell us when you book, so we bring the right kit. Lost locking wheel nut key explains what happens. It adds a little time, not a whole day. The fitter tells you before he starts if anything will take longer.
